Overpayments or Payments Not Fully Disbursed

How to handle overpayments and partially disbursed payments

In the event that a patient has made an overpayment or if a payment has not been fully disbursed, EZClaim will automatically save the remaining balance.

This balance can then be disbursed at a later time. Should you choose to save a payment that has not been fully disbursed, EZClaim will prompt you with a message to confirm your intention to save the remaining balance.

To disburse an overpayment or a payment with a remaining amount:

  • Click the Enter Payment button on the home screen

  • Select a Payment Source
  • Select the patient or payer the payment is from 
    • The program will load any payments with a remaining balance on the right-side grid.

  • Click the Disburse button, or double-click the payment displayed in the grid.
  • The payment will be loaded and allow you to disburse the remaining amount.
